Why Winterisation Matters
Freezing temperatures can cause serious damage to water systems, pipes and seals. A proper winterisation routine protects your investment and ensures trouble-free spring start-up.
Water System
- Drain all fresh water tanks completely
- Blow out the pipes using compressed air
- Add antifreeze to waste water traps
- Remove and store the aquaroll and waste water container
- Isolate the water pump
Habitation Check
- Check all roof seals and reseal if necessary
- Clean and dry the interior thoroughly
- Leave cupboard doors open to prevent mould
- Place moisture absorbers throughout
- Remove all food from cupboards
Battery Care
- Disconnect leisure batteries if storing over winter
- Connect to a smart charger/maintainer
- Check electrolyte levels in non-sealed batteries
Engine & Chassis
- Check and top up antifreeze
- Inflate tyres to storage pressure
- Consider a breathable cover
